New Jersey Pay Transparency Act (S2310) Guide

Effective June 1, 2025

Summary: Employers with 10+ employees must include a wage/salary range AND a general description of benefits in all job listings.

Key Requirements

  • Salary Range: Hourly wage or annual salary range required.
  • Benefits: General description of benefits and other compensation programs (bonuses, stock, retirement) is mandatory.
  • Promotion Notifications: Employers must make "reasonable efforts" to announce promotion opportunities to current employees before making a decision.

Penalties

Violations carry civil penalties:

  • $300 for the first violation.
  • $600 for each subsequent violation.

Note: Each job posting can be considered a separate violation.
